Rates

Please email us for current Rates, or phone us if you would like to discuss them.

Lightship charges only for consulting services (by day or hour) or IT services (use of computer equipment).

Lightship Consulting does not sell or receive commission for any software sales, hardware sales, or recruitment. So if, following our services, you decide to buy software from a vendor, you only pay for the time during which we provided you with assistance to reach that decision. That is why you can rely on our unbiased opinion. That is also why we normally charge for setting up demos and pilots.

If at any time you decide you are not getting the benefits you expect from our work, you can terminate the service.

We also charge incurred expenses, backed by VAT receipts wherever possible. We make no margin on expenses. If you prefer, we can agree a ‘per diem’ rate for expenses. Please click here to view or download our current ‘Expenses Policy’ document.

Booking and Cancellation

You can book any available time whenever you wish.

You can also ‘pencil-in’ time. This means that we will not book that time to anyone else without checking with you and giving you first option on that time. However, if someone wants to make a firm booking on time which you have ‘pencilled in’, we would ask you to make the booking firm or release it.

If you wish to cancel booked time, we would appreciate as much notice as possible. However, we only make a cancellation charge if you cancel less than 24 hours before the first day of the booked time (eg booking on the 3rd, cancelled on the 1st = no charge, cancelled on the 2nd = charge). We waive this charge if we can replace the booking.

Copyright

We reserve no copyright on anything that we say, write, do or build while working on an assignment for you. However, we ask that you acknowledge our contribution as appropriate.

Guarantee

We guarantee that any work performed for you will be to the best of our ability, and therefore of a high quality.

We do not provide any guarantee on any software or documentation, except as stated in the previous sentence.

Our primary guarantee is that we hope you will invite us to participate in your next project, and will provide a positive reference to other potential clients.
